What faith can do!

This song got me through a very tough time last year. Just wanted to share. With faith, nothing is impossible!

Everybody falls sometimes
Gotta find the strength to rise
From the ashes and make a new beginning
Anyone can feel the ache
You think its more than you can take
But you are stronger, stronger than you know
Don't you give up now
The sun will soon be shining
You gotta face the clouds
To find the silver lining

I've seen dreams that move the mountains
Hope that doesn't ever end
Even when the sky is falling
And I've seen miracles just happen
Silent prayers get answered
Broken hearts become brand new
That's what faith can do

It doesn't matter what you've heard
Impossible is not a word
It's just a reason for someone not to try
Everybody's scared to death
When they decide to take that step
Out on the water
It'll be alright
Life is so much more
Than what your eyes are seeing
You will find your way
If you keep believing

I've seen dreams that move the mountains
Hope that doesn't ever end
Even when the sky is falling
And I've seen miracles just happen
Silent prayers get answered
Broken hearts become brand new
That's what faith can do
That's what faith can do!
Even if you fall sometimes
You will have the strength to rise

Best Friends

Here is a snapshot of the girls on a typical day at the Ham house. We are so glad that it has gotten warmer so we can walk and play outside. We are taking Emma up to Maryland this weekend to visit her parents, Josh and Heather. We are so excited to see them and can't wait to spend a few days visiting! We also had great news yesterday at our ultrasound. The baby is healthy and growing so fast. It was kicking its long legs and feet all over the place. I think it was sucking its thumb also which was so adorable. We got to bring home a few pictures and are showing them off to friends and family. I thank God each day for the miracle that He created in my belly:) (I will post pictures soon of my growing belly, so you all can see little piglet.)

Timothy

I was reading this morning in the book of 1 Timothy. The book itself is kind of an awesome piece of history. Paul, the apostle, is writing to Timothy, a fellow believer. Most likely, Paul is in prison and knows that his life is coming to an end, so he is "passing the torch" if you will to Timothy; he knows that Timothy will lead the next generation in establishing the early church and preaching God's promises. Paul gives Timothy warning not to lose sight of the TRUE gospel despite all the false teachings of the day. He calls Timothy to cherish it. Paul talks about his own sin, which so many of us fail to do. We tend to put our shortcomings and sin on others and place fault on anyone but ourselves. I think recognizing your own sins and weaknesses are the key to unlocking a FULL life. In verse 16 Paul says that because of his own sin and despite it, God still works through Paul, it displays God's unlimited patience and mercy for those that would believe. I think a lot of non-Christians look to Christians and see their faults/sins and use that as a springboard for cursing the faith and for knocking God. The truth is, God loves us despite our sins and that speaks volumes more than any human can imagine. I certainly have been met with my own weaknesses and sins and I have walked through the rocky roads of life. In the end, I am met with peace in knowing that despite all of it, I still have a God that hasn't changed...a God that is with me through it all; that puts a challenge in me to love unconditionally, to never lose heart. As Paul says it in 1 Timothy, "to fight the good fight, holding on to faith and a good conscience." Paul is right, it is a fight, daily, but one worth fighting for. "Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord" 1 Timothy 1:2
